CanExport SMEs UPDATED Now Accepting Applicants: Funding Support for Canadian Businesses Expanding Internationally

Expanding into international markets can be a game-changer for Canadian businesses, but the costs and complexities of global trade can be challenging. The CanExport SMEs program, administered by the Government of Canada, provides funding support to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) break into new foreign markets.

What Is CanExport SMEs?

CanExport SMEs is a funding initiative designed to assist Canadian businesses in diversifying their export markets. It provides financial support for activities that help companies explore new international business opportunities, mitigate market entry risks, and increase global competitiveness.

  • Generate annual revenues between $100,000 and $100 million.
  • Be seeking to expand into a new international market where they have little to no previous sales.

The program is specifically designed for businesses looking to enter countries where their sales do not exceed $100,000 or 10% of their total revenue in the last 12 months.
